Hello, I'm Dee

she / her

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor, a psychosexual therapist, and an accredited clinical supervisor. I work with everyone from 16 years and above.

I see people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, have lost their zest for life, or have histories that make it difficult to live in the now. Whatever your reason for seeking support, we will face this together with curiosity, compassion and understanding. For me, safety is key, and this means I focus on creating and maintaining space for you to feel heard, seen and understood, and to be able to share without judgement.

I bring my full self into session including my keen eye for patterns and my (sometimes kooky) sense of humour. I enjoy the process of attuning and connecting and find the experience and lives of others fascinating and humbling. I will work with you to support and strengthen your relationship with yourself, by developing and enhancing self-reflection and self-compassion.

When you work with me, I will help you lay all the “puzzle pieces” of your life out so we can look at the big picture together. We’ll take note of the things that are holding you back and create plans to overcome them. One-by-one, I’ll support you in putting all the pieces back together again to form the picture you set out to draw for yourself in the first place.

Clinical Experience

I have over 15 years of private practice experience working with adults, older adolescents, and relationships. I have extensive experience working in the expat community and the LGBTQIA+ community. I am proudly LGBTQIA+ affirmative. I also provide supervision and counselling for other counsellors.

Key clinical issues I work with include:
(but are not limited to)
  • Depression and anxiety

  • Overwhelm, stress and burnout

  • Trauma and abuse

  • “Stuckness”

  • Relationship issues – with a partner, parent or child

  • Transition and adjustment issues

  • Expat and culturally related issues

  • High-functioning individuals and 'deep thinkers'

  • ADHD/Neurodivergence

As a psychosexual therapist, I work with all sexual issues, particularly the psychological component of these. This may range from performance anxiety and out-of-control sexual behaviours to affairs, low libido or sexual assault/abuse.

As a clinical supervisor, I will support your client work, and help you deepen and develop your reflective skills. I see supervision as a collaborative, compassionate, and professional relationship where I aim to hold space and provide support, perspective, and safety, and promote and protect the welfare of both yourself and your clients. My goal is to provide quality supervision to assist in reflective practice, giving you the opportunity to unfold and unpack client issues and dilemmas as well as support your well-being and self-care as a practitioner.

A little bit more about me...

I am a Kiwi by birth but have lived in Australia, the UK, Singapore and Hong Kong. I am one of those third-culture kids! I currently live at the foot of a mountain in Brisbane, Australia with my husband, two teenage boys and most recently, a six-month-old Australian Labradoodle therapy dog in the making! When I am not working, I enjoy creative pursuits such as ceramics, photography, printmaking, and all things food and cooking. I am a lover of card and board games and am rapidly becoming a big fan of both weekend 5km Parkruns and Pickleball.
